Fun in the Sun

We are in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. Jeremy, Julie, and Carston have arrived and we are anchored in-between Rozinante and JuCa.

We are loving the fact that we are surrounded by friends on a beautiful island. The kids are getting along great which makes things nice for all of us.

On Saturday Ryan took Jeremy, Julie, and all the kids on a dinghy drift fishing excursion. They didn’t catch anything but they had fun.

Then after everyone came over to Sandy Dreams and we had a cookout. Ryan made the best steaks and baked potatoes, Gabi made some yummy curry chicken, and Julie made a Caesar salad. We were all stuffed at the end of the night.

In the marina they have a pirate ship in one of the slips. Carston and I wanted to go check it out. It is really neat! You can tell by looking at it that it is the real deal. The boat is all wooden and rumor in the harbor is that it was in the movies “Pirates of the Caribbean.” I believe it and I’m going to watch the movies again to see if I can spot it!

And apparently Carston was a fish in another lifetime. He LOVES the water and loves the beach. He loves it all so much that sometimes it is hard to get him to leave. He would spend all his time there building sand castles and playing in the water.

Yesterday Julia and Carlos lured him away with the promise of catching hermit crabs and seeing the old fort on Pigeon Island. Shortly after getting into the park we were surprised by a turtle beside the path laying her eggs. A first for all of us! It was really exciting. Unfortunately right after snapping a few pictures of the turtle my camera batteries died. Maybe later I can post a few pictures that Julie took.

That is it for now.

Today we are going into town

to participate in some of the carnival activities!

More to come later.
