Internet (For now) Update

Internet is still not on board Sandy Dreams but it can be found if you know where to look. Today I lucked out. We have seen a few islands since last checking in and to quote one of our friends. Now it feels like we are in the Caribbean. The islands here are as different from one another as they can be, with  one thing in common, they are all beautiful. St. Martin was a fun place to be and we enjoyed the two weeks that we spent there. Amy joined us and will be staying with us until July. We are excited to have her aboard and enjoying her company.

While in St. Martin we went to the Sunset Beach Bar and watched planes land. It NEVER got old. We saw everything from prop planes to great big jets. I highly recommend adding it to your bucket list. Not only is it fun to watch the planes land and take off. The beach is beautiful and great for swimming.

After St. Martin we sailed over to St. Bart to check out the scenery there. The shops were crazy expensive and the harbor was rolly but the island was picture perfect. And it had a great beach for gathering sea glass. Amy even found a whole blown glass bottle rim. She made it into a necklace. A friend we met that trades in sea glass says that a piece like that is both rare and valuable. What better souvenir for her trip?!

After St. Bart's we got up early and set sail for St. Kitts. It ended up being a very full day of sailing. Although we were making excellent time and ahead of schedule as soon as we got in lee of the island we had to fight to keep the boat in motion and on the right course. We got in too late for the marina and spent a VERY rocky and rolly night on the hook in front of the marina. After a crazy day of ping ponging off the walls Marilyn decided that we should move into the marina for the rest of our stay. It is a beautiful island and Marilyn and Amy are inspecting every inch of it. Today they are making connections for SPIN and are very excited about it. Ryan and I are taking full advantage of limitless water and power and near by garbage bin. We have scrubbed the decks, cushions, and dog nothing is safe from our scrub brushes and soap. Otherwise it is same ol’ same ol’ here.
