Luperon Road Trip

We rented a car for a week and traveled the D.R.

The most interesting part was the motorcycles and scooters. They put EVERYTHING on them. It became a game trying to get pictures of the crazy things that they carry.

motorcycles move everything! This scooter has a big bag of feed and two people. The guy in the back is sitting on top of the feed, swinging his feet.3 people on a motorcycle; one with 4" high-heels and a bottle of beer!3 This one has 3 people and the back 2 are drinking beer.

Later we had to wait for the cattle to travel through town so we could continue on our trip.cattle drive2 This was one of the places that we stayed the night at. It was right on the beach and owned by a French guy. La Jardin Hotel -home on 9/10/10[1] The view from our room.Hotel Los Jardines2 Another night we had trouble finding a room, we ended up staying here. Our home for the night! They had a little garages attached to your room. And a guy would come and open the door for you. garage-door=openerLater we found out that they rent the rooms by the hour and the garages are to hide your cars. Interesting to say the least. We didn’t sleep well either. But as Ryan aptly put it “ Your not supposed to sleep in a whore house.”

The entire trip was memorable. None of us speak very good Spanish. And we had no idea where we were going. But we still managed to see some interesting things and have some fun.

Very cool road trip indeed. Love the scooter game, bet you were glad to have a car instead of 3 of them. Hurricane season has been slow, a blessing for you "Islanders". I looked at your anchorage on google earth the other day. Looks pretty cool, very protected for sure.
Keep the blog going, may seem mundane to you, but us "dreamers" love it!
Cheers,
