Busy Busy

We have been working hard on the boat. Lots of cleaning, painting, polishing, and organizing going on. Have been here two weeks now and there is still a TON of stuff to do and get done. However today is a lazy not gonna do much but play on the computer kinda day. So I thought that I would update the news.

We had our first guests on New Years weekend. Tyson, Connie, and the boys drove down. We had a good time and took the boat out sailing while they were here. I even drove the boat for a little while. I know scary huh. Ethan said that I was "The Best Captain ever" I think that was because while I was steering he was below deck sliding from side to side on the floor. He had a blast, everyone else was hanging on, LOL. Connie got some really good pictures of the boat. Last week Marilyn was here and we went shopping and got a lot of stuff for the boat and made lots of decisions. She bought a new grill and chairs for the deck, and I had the hammock Ryan got me in Mexico, so the deck is now the best place to hang out on the boat. Then on Sunday after we had taken Marilyn to the airport Happy and Eric came by for a little while. It is fun to watch Ryan brag and show off the boat to people. He really loves it. (So do I)

Ryan has had the last week off and may possibly get all this week off too. So it has been nice having him here with me. It is also nice because he has got a lot done that I would not have been able to do alone. He got the trash compactor out -it was broken; as well as the washer and dryer which worked great if you only wanted to wash 1 shirt at a time. (We gave the washer and dryer to the neighbors at the end of the dock. She seemed really excited to get them.) When Tyson was here we got the lathe out of the engine room. And Ryan and I have hauled 2 suitcases of papers and blueprints for the boat back to OKC. We have raised the waterline several inches with everything that we have taken out. The boat should go much faster now without all the added weight.

Sis is enjoying the boat. She spends her day watching people walking on the dock, watching the ducks and pelicans swimming, and taking naps in the sun on the deck. She rarely gets off the boat without permission and likes being with Ryan all day.

I found some old pictures in one of the drawers on the boat. They were a nice surprise and show the boat with all the sails up. They also have Sandy and Margaret in them (The builder and first owners.) I think that I am going to frame one and keep it in the boat.

I will post more later as I have time.
